Looks like a Don Quixote costume … More hints, please! :-P

    • zephyrin_xirdal Wednesday, 12th September 2012 at 17:04

No, it’s not a costume depicting Don Quixote, but the story of the movie we’re looking for has something quixotical—at least implicitly.

I see … eh?! Great hint, thanx, zeph :-)

    • zephyrin_xirdal Wednesday, 12th September 2012 at 18:48

you are very welcome ;) All right, here’s another hint: In a way the plot of the movie has much to do with what we are doing here.

Chatting? Mailing? Doing virtual conversation? Guessing? I’m out for today … ‘nite! ;o)

    • zephyrin_xirdal Wednesday, 12th September 2012 at 21:43

      ‘Guessing’ ain’t a bad guess …

  • Alhambra Thursday, 13th September 2012 at 06:49

    Riddling …

  • Alexander Rabitsch Thursday, 13th September 2012 at 08:31

To infer from the silhouettes … it´s a Western movie …

  • Alhambra Friday, 14th September 2012 at 07:47

    A Western … Cowboys & Aliens? :-)

  • zephyrin_xirdal Sunday, 16th September 2012 at 09:02

@Alhambra: Yes, we are riddling here, and our riddlery has to do with movies …
@Alexander Rabitsch: The silhouette approaching is the one of a Western hero all right—a quite famous one in his time—but the movie isn’t a Western. And, Alhambra, no, it’s not ‘Cowboys & Aliens’ (Favreau 2011). The movie we’re looking for is not a recent one.

Juli Borissowitsch Briner a/k/a >>Yul Brynner<< featuring here as Gunslinger in Westworld?

    • zephyrin_xirdal Sunday, 16th September 2012 at 17:30

That is a fine guess, but no, I’m sorry, it is not Yul Brynner as the android Gunslinger. In the screencap a Western hero is impersonated by the lead protagonist of the movie we are looking for. The hero impersonated stems from an earlier period than Mr Brynner’s work.

geesus x …. ain´t no idea … that jessy james? doc holiday? xD I quit ….

    • zephyrin_xirdal Tuesday, 18th September 2012 at 21:44

No, you do not quit! The Western hero who is impersonated in the scene of the movie is Hopalong Cassidy. The face mask is only a slight distortion of the mug of actor William Boyd, who, from 1935 to 1948 played Hopalong Cassidy … in 66 movies!

There´s no end to learning :D

    • zephyrin_xirdal Wednesday, 19th September 2012 at 11:48

True so, there is no end to learning ;) For your convenience I updated the post with yet one more screencap. All of you who like our little quiz here would also like the movie in question, I am positive.

  • Alhambra Wednesday, 19th September 2012 at 13:12

    Fade to black (1980)

    • zephyrin_xirdal Wednesday, 19th September 2012 at 13:19

This is absolutely correct—congratulations! It’s Eric Binford (Dennis Christopher) approaching as Hopalong Cassidy, and sitting in the cinema as Count Dracula, all happening in ‘Fade to Black’ (Zimmerman 1980).

  • Alhambra Wednesday, 19th September 2012 at 13:28

Finally … Okay, where’s the new quiz? :-)

  • Alexander Rabitsch Wednesday, 19th September 2012 at 15:24
